We have been chatting about Spring/Summer style for awhile, but haven’t been able to fully immerse ourselves into this much-loved season until very recently because Mother Nature had other ideas.

She’s now officially onboard and we are all IN for everything and everywhere the bright sun & warm temps take us.. whether it's sitting on a patio, or sitting on the dock.

Canadian Summers are beautiful and nothing excites most of us more than going to your own cottage, or getting a coveted invite to a friend’s lakeside retreat. City life takes us from sunset dinners outdoors to weekend wineries and backyard pool days. So yes, Homebody is docked for the summer, and this means we are focused on a simpler seasonal style that is light, effortless & has an overall “throw on and go” vibe so we can embrace all the sun-soaked days & warm summer nights.

This is the year when we fall in love with flip-flops all over again. When dressing for summer the key is simple but styled, and we want our shoe choice to adapt to the warm temps, day to night outfit swaps and is something we can slip on daily with confidence. But we aren’t talking the flip flops of days gone past, you know, the rubber $5 pair you picked up just about anywhere, the new luxe version is a definite step up.

Summer 2026 has re-introduced this footwear fave with some exciting fresh updates..like the square toe. Who knew a subtle change from the traditional almond toe would turn our heads and make our hearts say yes. Embellishments like stones and studs are also a thing on strappy sandals and we are just as captivated. How about a kitten heel thong..these are everything you want in an elevated modern flip-flop style. Our T-Kees and Dolce Vita collections paired with long shorts, anything denim, dresses, maxi skirts are perfection!! The subtle changes to the flip flop minimalist design, gives thong sandals an updated new look, ready for anything.

Lounging poolside and walking along the beach with our toes in the water are some of our favourite things to do. Shopping for just the right swimsuit can be the opposite & trying to find one that is a look we are completely sold on, is a cut that fits comfortably, and is good quality can be a challenge.

Some elements of spring/summer never truly go out of style..you can count on them year after year as part of your warm weather, look good essentials. Premium denim shorts are one, but in recent years have taken the back burner in popularity, however 2026 officially marks their comeback to the style scene. Fashion insiders are embracing everything from tailored jorts to relaxed vintage-inspired cuts showing there are universally appealing options for every personal style. What we have seen is a big shift in selection,which means now is the time you want to add a pair or two to your wardrobe rotation. High- rise, low-rise and mid-rise styles in a variety of lengths are now an option making denim shorts one of the most versatile pieces in your closet. We are especially gravitating toward the long denim jorts along with the fall-back classic style we have loved forever. What else is new..colour!! It’s not just blue any more, white, pink, washed black and khaki denim are bringing new life to this timeless staple and offering endless cool-girl styling possibilities. 

White denim shorts was particularly not hot for some time, and now it has become the trendy short of the season.
